My long weekend

I went to Lower Pierce Reservoir for a nature walk last Friday with my family. It was sweltering hot on that day but I didn't mind as I got a chance to be with nature. When my family and I reached there, I could smell the fresh air and the sounds of crickets chirping gaily.
The first thing I saw was a troop of monkeys playing around. Some were eating while the others were just looking around. I wanted to take a picture of them, but when they started to growl at me I backed away.
My family and I then went to walk on the boardwalk. I saw many pond skaters gliding gracefully on the surface of the water and turtles eating bread fed by a boy. At that time, my fussy sister was complaining about the heat, so we decided to take a rest.
Later, we carried on walking and enjoying the picturesque scenery amidst the peace and serenity. I saw a few cracked shells on the way back. My father told me that the seeds inside the shell were rubber seeds. I started to look around for rubber seeds and found a few. A mischievous thought sprang into my mind. I rubbed a seed on the ground and thrust it onto my sister's leg. She yelped in pain as the heat from the seed pained her. I could not hold back my laughter and I started laughing hysterically.
The day soon ended as we went to a nearby shop to eat our dinner. While we were walking back, my brother saw a green tree lizard hiding underneath a cluster of leaves. My mother quickly fished out her cellphone and took a shot of it. Then, my sister spotted a slight movement on one of tree trunks. It was a squirrel! It was too quick for us as it jumped onto another trunk and ran away.
The trip had been a fruitful one and I hope to go there again to get in touch with nature again.
